One major event that is still in its infancy, only just having ended back in May, was the second annual conference of DES – Digital Business World Congress (DES2017), the world’s largest digital transformation event. The event was organized in Madrid on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of May 2017 in the IFEMA exhibition conference center which had a huge economic impact on the city bringing in more than 34 million Euros in revenue and investments, resulting greatly in part to the increase in total international visitors to the city.
An inspiring event outlining the current state of digital business globally and the forecasted advances projected for the coming years, the event drew visitors from the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, and Mexico. These countries made up about 17% of those individuals in attendance, demonstrating the diverse international environment of the conference. An even larger amount, 69% of the visitors, held senior management positions within their respective companies and were known to be key participants in the decision-making processes within their companies.
The organizers of the Digital Business World Congress have already announced dates for the third edition, which will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of May 2018, and will once again convert Madrid into the world capital of digital business.

The Spanish Finance Ministry, the Regional Government, and the City Hall joined forces to support this event and boost the overall digital transformation of the city and the country.
