A case study written by graduate students from GBSB Global Business School recently was selected as finalist for the International Business Ethics Case Competition (IBECC) sponsored by Loyola Marymount University. The competition, which took place in San Diego, US on May 8-10, 2013 is an award created to promote ethical and sustainable values in doing business. Organized annually since 1996, IBECC is a reference event in the area of business ethics which attracts participants from over the world. Within other participating business schools and Universities are Oxford University, INSEAD, Warwick Business School, University of California, Irvine, etc.
A case study “Leadership on Trial: Helping Ill and Disabled Children” focused on the challenges faced by a business leader when dealing with an ethical dilemma concerning for-profit healthcare. The students examined the role of leadership and challenged readers to think about the ways of finding ethical solutions in situations which seemed unsolvable.
By participating in the event GBSB Global Business School has emphasized its commitment with providing business education based on ethical and sustainable values. GBSB Global has been the only business school from Spain selected to participate in the competition this year.
