Chapter 2021 is coming to an end, so let’s traditionally review all the ups and downs we’ve bravely faced over the past 12 months.
Business Challenges:
As 2021 returned to some resemblances of normal, businesses including GBSB Global are still reeling from the setback the pandemic continues to present. Among the main challenges we still have ‘COVID-19 restrictions’ at the top of the list with all the uncertainties that follow as the aftermath. To speak on a global scale, business challenges include keeping up with industry trends, coping with market competition, further digital adoption, and automation of existing business processes. Despite the financial and operational obstacles, a question of balancing quality and growth remained, even if attracting and retaining talents (both students and staff) has proven to be somewhat difficult at times, especially when international immigration restraints were reapplied.
With that, GBSB Global has identified the main areas of development as the basis for its contingency plan, namely: further digitalization, innovation, and maintaining business agility. Anticipating setbacks, forecasting trends, and planning accordingly with a sound level of implementation has defined our readiness to pivot and succeed in business operations. As a result, let’s move on to reviewing our accomplishments.

Rankings:
GBSB Global proudly received further recognition by the QS having entered their World University Rankings 2022. For the fourth time in a row, GBSB Global’s MBA Program got ranked as Tier 1 in Global and European MBA Rankings by the CEO Magazine, weighting especially highly on the Quality of Faculty, International Diversity, Class Size and Accreditation parameters.
We also got included in U-Multirank 2021 edition, among top 79 learning institutions in Spain, and ranked as one of the 1,000 Best Business Schools in the world by Eduniversal, having received their Palme of Excellence, representing Spain, Western Europe region.
New Programs:
As for new academic offerings, GBSB Global upgraded the old BBA program to a state-accredited, digitally-focused Bachelor of Business Administration And Digital Innovation, available on campus and online. We also launched the inaugural MSc Digital Education Management, an exclusive Online Master Program designed to give rise to education professionals with specialized digital acumen, proficient in management, agile thinking, leadership and latest EdTech. Topping with an MSc with Blockchain Management, the first state-accredited (MFHEA) MSc Blockchain program launched in Malta, focuses on economics, digital finance, and trade, helping graduates navigate this revolutionary technology.
New Campuses:
October 2021 marked the opening of the newest physical campus in Birkirkara, second business capital of Malta, making GBSB Global Business School a fully licensed higher education institution.
GBSB Global also established a united online and executive education campus in Switzerland - a digital hub, developing and managing state-of-the-art learning programs, promoting leadership and exceptional standards in academia and business.
Entrepreneurship:
G-accelerator completed the first edition of its Impact Call startup incubator program, with 2 winning projects, and several up-and-coming runners up operating on an international scale, one of which got interviewed by EU-Startups.com. Here’s to many more entrepreneurial success stories!
Alumni Society:
Friday, 26th November 2021, marked the most recent Alumni Reunion held at the Monument Hotel 5*GL in Barcelona, where we had the pleasure of awarding some of the winners in person as part of this year’s ALUMNI AWARDS 2021. See for yourself:
