Operations Strategies of Digital Business

9 Academic Credits (ECTS) The success of an organization is contingent on the efforts of its marketing activities. The digital strategy course familiarizes students with the role marketing plays in the management of organizations. Marketing is used to identify and measure the needs and desires of consumers, establish business objectives, elect the most appropriate products/services to provide the market, and determine the optimal price and distribution strategies to be employed. Students learn how to develop an integrated digital marketing strategy for main media and interactive media platforms. Students will also learn the importance of digital marketing strategies and how UX helps to improve conversion rates to meet budgetary forecasts.

Block 3

Management of Digital Businesses in a Global Environment

6 Academic Credits (ECTS) Efficient management of the operations involves effectively managing people. The objective of digital business management course is to provide students with an understanding of the roles involved in the management of operations and the challenges one might face. Students are provided with the concepts, tools and methods that will help them become familiar with operations and the decision-making processes related to the different functional areas. The course will comprise of a basic learning of the fundamentals of operations management, an introduction to new digital business models based on e-commerce and mobile platforms, and an understanding of the skills needed to support the aforementioned models.

Management of Business in a Global Environment

9 Academic Credits (ECTS) Having a global strategy is a key success factor for companies that intend to grow their business beyond their initial territory. This course demonstrates how companies develop and sustain their competitive advantages in an economy where they are growing their global presence and positioning.

This course emphasizes business case analyses, debates and teamwork activities focused on a variety of different theoretical frameworks related to global strategy and management. Students will understand economic growth, trade, monetary and business cycles, and fiscal policies. The course will introduce students to the digital strategies that are changing the way traditional business models work. Students will learn how technology has supported the advancement of new business models in different sectors.

Block 5

Digital Law and the Legal Environment

6 Academic Credits (ECTS) Digital business law course provides students with a theoretical and practical approach to international business and the stakeholders concerned. The course provides guidelines to facilitate decision making in launching an international business and raises awareness about the regulatory and legal parameters in local markets. The subject examines the digital rights, often considered legal rights and regulatory restrictions, that should be measured in a digital business model. The course delivers information on legal issues, violations, and other consequences.

Block 6

Agile Methodologies and Design Thinking

3 Academic Credits (ECTS) Business modeling is a demanded skill in which business managers must promote new products and services to a market in a short amount of time and work faster than in the past on digital ecosystems. Students will understand the advantages of Design Thinking and agile methodology techniques.

Block 7

Designing a Digital Startup

12 Academic Credits (ECTS) This course is focused on how to imagine, define, and manage a business plan from scratch for a digital startup. The business plan is imperative to starting a business. This course is designed to develop entrepreneurial skills to recognize digital opportunities, increase creativity and the capacity to develop new digital products and services. Students will improve their ability to generate innovative business ideas during class and will be familiarized with tools such as the StartUp Canvas® and others such as the Lego Serious Play® application in the design phase of a business project. The digital business design course will prepare students to write a final master project – a business plan. Students will develop skills to identify the financial implications of new business plans and will consider pertinent financial elements in the management of a new business.

Digital Corporate Challenges

12 Academic Credits (ECTS) This course is aimed at students planning to help their organization in the digital business transformation process. Digital Corporate Challenges tackles the following emerging digital knowledge areas: management of social networks, big data and analytics, and gamification. Successful digitalization requires a corporate strategy that consists of the comprehensive rethinking of the entire value chain of the company to gain efficiency and apply technology in a sustainable manner over time to increase competitiveness. This course prepares students to write a final project or a Digital Master Plan.
