GBSB Global Master in Fashion and Luxury Business Management students have the unique opportunity to hear from Joan Carles Montes on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 from 5-6:30 pm. He will be on campus giving a talk about second hand clothes, the processes the organization oversees and how Humana’s aid effort is helping improve the quality of life in developing countries.
Meet Joan Carles Montes, a member of the communication department of Humana People's Village Foundation. In this department, they broadcast the activity generated in Spain in the area of management of textile waste: the annual reuse of thousands of tons of used clothing, social actions funded with the resources obtained from the management of the textile, opening of second-hand clothing stores, and the attendance at sectoral conferences. Mr. Montes produces press releases, newsletters, media requests, and works as a spokesperson for press, radio, and television interviews.
The Humana Organization, also referred to as Humana People to People is a network of 31 development organizations, located in Europe, USA, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The development work and aid members provide is varied, but it is all based on working with the poor on the ground level, helping to better their lives.
The approach to development in underprivileged communities and countries is centered around the people, organizing individuals to work together in taking an active approach and stance in creating positive changes in their lives.
Mr. Montes will be speaking to GBSB Global’s Master in Fashion and Luxury Business Management students, but other students are welcome to join the discussion. This is a worthwhile cause that in not only important to share with a select group of creative minds, but with the entire student body.
