GBSB Global Launches Impuls Agritech 2025 Pre-Accelerator Program
Agriculture today stands at a decisive crossroads, facing challenges ranging from climate pressures to digital transformation. To address these challenges creatively and effectively, GBSB Global Business School, in partnership with Xarxa Agritech (a network coordinated by Catalonia’s Institute for Agrifood Research and Technology, IRTA), has launched Impuls Agritech 2025.
The new edition of this pre-acceleration program officially began on September 22, 2025, marking the fifth cohort of G-Accelerator’s Impact initiative. Its mission is clear: to transform bold research ideas into market-ready solutions that advance sustainability and innovation in the agri-food sector.
Impuls Agritech 2025 is more than a training initiative. It reflects GBSB Global’s strategic priority of fostering entrepreneurship, applied research, and innovation at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and sustainability. By bringing together talented entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry experts, the program provides fertile ground for the next generation of agritech breakthroughs.
This year’s cohort presents eight pioneering projects led by researchers and innovators from some of Catalonia’s most prestigious institutions, including the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Lleida, and the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG).
Their projects address challenges ranging from digitalization to food innovation.
- Agrixels & UPCxels: interoperable agri-data spaces and AI-driven services.
- TROCA: a patented circular-economy product for sustainable fire-starting.
- PILPIG & IPreFeR: logistics optimization and robotics for pig farming.
- Microbial Solutions: next-generation bio-stimulants and biopesticides.
- Sweet Chlamy: protein-based sweeteners produced through microalgae.
- GreenGuard: a farm management app that promotes sustainable practices.
