Dr. Corissa Wella

Dr. Corissa Vella White is an accomplished academic and educator specializing in sports structures, elite sports policies, and sports management. She holds a PhD in Sports Structures and Elite Sports Policies from the University of Edinburgh, where her research focused on the development and governance of elite sports systems.
Dr. Vella White has extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At GBSB Global Business School, she lectures in business administration and digital innovation, delivering lectures, developing innovative teaching methods, assessing coursework, tutoring dissertations, and serving as a thesis board member. She is also a Senior Sports Lecturer at MCAST, where she has contributed to the Bachelor of Science in Sport, Exercise and Health since 2014, designing and preparing courses, implementing new teaching methods, and supervising student research.
In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Vella White is actively involved in sports coaching and training. She is a certified CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and has led classes at Tripod CrossFit and The Gym Maui Hawaii, creating routines for diverse skill levels and promoting health and fitness. Her professional background also includes experience as a Sportsbook Marketing Coordinator at Betsson Group and as a Sports Coach at SportsMalta, where she coordinated multi-sport programs and managed teams of coaches.
Dr. Vella White’s research interests include elite sports policy, sports management, and the structures that underpin high-performance sport. She is passionate about integrating research with teaching, ensuring that her students are equipped with the latest knowledge and practical skills to excel in the sports industry.
