GBSB Global Business School delivered a bespoke Executive Education program “Leading AI-Driven Transformation in Health Insurance” addressing one of the most pressing challenges facing health insurance leadership today: how to adopt artificial intelligence responsibly, at scale, and with strategic oversight from the boardroom down.
The result was a three-module international program that combined academic rigor with direct exposure to leading European healthcare and innovation environments — equipping board members and senior executives with the frameworks, governance tools, and leadership alignment needed to lead AI-enabled transformation.

The Challenge
Artificial intelligence offers health insurers significant opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen fraud detection. At the same time, it introduces risks that demand governance at the highest level of the organization.
Board members and senior executives needed more than technical familiarity with AI — they needed a strategic understanding of how data-driven systems reshape decision-making, organizational structures, and institutional performance, along with the leadership capability to drive that transformation responsibly.
The Solution
GBSB Global designed an Executive Education program at the intersection of data, artificial intelligence, and the evolving landscape of health insurance. The program was structured to help participants:

Program Structure
Delivered across three international modules, the program paired academic sessions with real-world exposure in leading European healthcare and innovation environments.
Module 1 — Foundations of Data & AI in Health Insurance
An introduction to the strategic role of data and artificial intelligence in health insurance, covering operational optimization, fraud detection, and data governance. Executive sessions and institutional visits to leading healthcare and digital innovation organizations showed participants how leadership drives AI adoption in practice.
Module 2 — AI Across the Insurance Value Chain
An in-depth analysis of how AI is transforming underwriting, claims management, and governance and regulation across the insurance value chain, building participants’ insight into strategic decision-making in AI-driven insurance systems.
Module 3 — Policy, Regulation & Public Sector Transformation
A focus on policy design, healthcare system efficiency, and the role of AI in public sector transformation, including European regulatory frameworks and digital health ecosystems — translating the program’s learnings into strategies tailored to NHIA’s own organization.
