Dr. Lorella Bellia Calder\u00f3n is an accomplished scholar and educator whose career bridges academic excellence and innovative research in political science and public policy. With a doctorate in Government and Political Science from the Benem\u00e9rita Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Puebla, Dr. Bellia\u2019s research explores the influence of electoral polls on voting intentions, a topic she has examined through both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Her scholarly work has earned her the 2021 Best Doctoral Thesis Award from the Sociedad Mexicana de Estudios Electorales and recognition as a member of Mexico\u2019s National System of Researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Bellia\u2019s teaching portfolio is extensive and international, spanning undergraduate, master\u2019s, and doctoral levels. She has taught courses in qualitative research methods, public policy, political science fundamentals, government systems, and North American studies at leading institutions such as Universidad An\u00e1huac, Universidad de las Am\u00e9ricas Puebla, and Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla. Her commitment to academic rigor and student engagement is reflected in her roles as Academic Coordinator and lecturer, where she has guided students through complex subjects in both Spanish and English, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to her teaching, Dr. Bellia is actively involved in research projects with global reach. She has contributed as a second coder to the Leiden University project \u201cSurviving against all odds: Pachakutik’s electoral support, mobilization strategies and goal achievement between 1996 and 2019,\u201d and has held research fellowships in Spain and the Netherlands. Her research interests encompass elections, political communication, public opinion, electoral behavior, and North American integration, and she has published widely in these fields, including book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in international journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Bellia\u2019s academic leadership extends beyond the classroom. She has coordinated academic programs, organized conferences, and participated in the development of public policy diagnostics during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work is distinguished by a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and the advancement of knowledge in political science and public administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
