GBSB Global Business School Awarded Public Grant from Generalitat de Catalunya and Social European Fund for Fourth Consecutive Year

Barcelona, Spain, July 17 – GBSB Global Business School has been awarded a public grant from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Social European Fund within the framework of Programa Primer – Solucions disruptives per a territoris innovadors – for the fourth consecutive year. The aim of the grant is to promote, throughout Catalonia, different specialized territorial entrepreneurship programs for the creation of companies based on innovation and technology. This funding enables the institution to continue developing the G-Accelerator Impact Call Program – a pre-accelerator initiative dedicated to fostering impact entrepreneurship, empowering innovators, and driving positive social change.
This remarkable achievement underscores G-Accelerator’s position at the heart of the entrepreneurial scene, providing new opportunities for both national and international expansion. With the latest financing, the overall support volume of G-Accelerator and its annual Impact Call Program from Generalitat de Catalunya and the Social European Fund amounts to 240,000 EURO, contributing to the own resources of GBSB Global, dedicated to this free-of-charge, six-month-long program annually.
Since its inception in 2018, G-Accelerator has played an essential role in nurturing the entrepreneurial aspirations of GBSB Global students and alumni. The program’s evolution from its initial grant in 2020 has allowed it to expand its outreach and impact within the entrepreneurial Catalonian ecosystem. With each passing year, the program has seen significant growth in both the number of applications and successful startup recipients it supports.
The announcement of the 11 projects and 25 beneficiaries of the Impact Call 2024 edition earlier this summer highlights the competitive nature of the program, with over 280 applications vying for the opportunity. This accomplishment not only reflects the dedication of G-Accelerator in encouraging innovation and social change but also demonstrates the highest level of talent and ingenuity present within the entrepreneurial community associated with GBSB Global. The international community represented by over 20 nationalities in each cohort further underscores the program’s global appeal and the diverse perspectives and experiences that contribute to its success.
The continued support from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Social European Fund reaffirms the value and impact of G-Accelerator in catalyzing the growth and success of startups with innovative and impactful business ideas within the academic environment.
